deHertz vs Plaud

They are the benchmark. Here is where each of us wins.

Plaud is the largest brand in this category and better than us at several concrete things. A comparison that pretended otherwise would tell you nothing useful — so this one counts their wins as well as ours.

Line by line

Thirteen things worth comparing.

Their figures are as published on their UAE storefront in September 2026. If one is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Buy Plaud if

  • You need a language we do not support — they cover 112 to our 15.
  • You record for long stretches away from a phone. Their battery and on-device storage are genuinely better.
  • You need speaker labels today rather than when we ship them.
  • Your procurement requires SOC 2 or HIPAA on paper. We do not have those certifications yet.
  • You want a brand with millions of users behind it. That is a reasonable thing to want.

Buy deHertz if

  • Your meetings run in Arabic and English at once. We built for that case first rather than adding it to a list.
  • You want one price with no minute counter. AED 499 covers a year of unlimited transcription.
  • You would rather wear it than clip it on. A pin reads as a device; a medallion reads as jewelry.
  • You want support from someone in your timezone who answers the same day.
  • You are in the UAE. We ship free in 2–4 days and the company is here.

Common questions

What people ask when comparing the two.

Is deHertz just a cheaper Plaud?
No, and it is not straightforwardly cheaper either — their NotePin is AED 551 against our AED 499, which is close. The difference is what the price includes: our year of transcription is unlimited, while their free tier is 300 minutes a month and more requires a plan. Over a year of daily meetings that gap is much larger than the AED 52 on the hardware.
Why do they support 112 languages and you support 15?
Because we chose depth over breadth in the languages this region actually uses. Handling a sentence that starts in Arabic and finishes in English is a harder problem than adding a hundredth language, and it is the problem our customers have.
Their battery is better. Does that matter?
It depends on your day. If you are away from a phone for two days at a time, yes, genuinely. If you sync in the evening like most people, 18 hours covers a working day with room to spare and the difference never comes up.
You have no certifications and they have five. Should that worry me?
It should inform you. Certification is expensive and slow, and a company our age has not been through it. What we can do instead is document exactly how your data is handled and let you judge — that is what our security page is for. If your procurement requires SOC 2 on paper, buy theirs.
Where did these Plaud figures come from?
Their own UAE storefront, read in September 2026. We did not estimate anything or take a number from a review. If a figure is out of date, write to us and we will correct it.
