How long does shipping take?

Can I return it if it's not for me?

Accepted Answer

Yes — return your deHertz within 14 days of delivery for a full refund, as long as it's unopened and unused. Just reach out to us and we'll arrange it.

Question 3

Do I own the pendant, or am I renting it?

Accepted Answer

You own it outright. AED 499 buys the pendant, the chain and the charger — they are yours whether or not you ever renew the AI service. The one-year hardware warranty runs from the day it arrives.

Question 4

What happens after the first year?

Accepted Answer

The pendant keeps working as a recorder. The AI service — transcription, summaries, search, reminders — is included for the first year; renewal pricing will be published before any first-year customer reaches month twelve, and we email you 60 days ahead with the options. Nothing is charged automatically.

Question 5

How long does the battery last?

Accepted Answer

Up to 18 hours of continuous recording on a single charge, and 7+ days in standby. Real-world life depends on how much of the day you spend actually talking and how often it syncs, so a heavy day of back-to-back meetings will land lower. It charges from empty to full in about 45 minutes over USB-C or the magnetic dock.

Question 6

Ambient or Focused mode — which should I use?

Ambient runs all day and catches everything, so you never miss the conversation that starts before you sit down — most people leave it here. Switch to Focused when you want one specific conversation on the record and nothing either side of it. You change modes in the app, and the status light shows when the pendant is capturing in either one.

Is it legal to record conversations?

Accepted Answer

Recording law varies by country and, in the UAE, can vary by emirate and context. The pendant is deliberately visible and its light shows when it is capturing, so recording is done openly rather than hidden — but the responsibility to comply and to tell people is yours. When in doubt, say you are recording. See our Security & privacy page for how the data is then handled.

How good is Arabic, really?

Arabic is a first-class language for us, not an afterthought — including Gulf and Levantine dialects, and code-switching between Arabic and English in the same sentence, which is how most meetings here actually run. Transcripts come back in the right script. Heavy background noise and very fast overlapping speakers are still hard, in Arabic as in any language.

Which languages does deHertz understand?

15 languages, including Arabic, English, Hindi, Urdu, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Italian, Portuguese and Tagalog. You can set your languages in the app.

What does "1 year full AI support" actually include?

Accepted Answer

Transcription accuracy issues, app troubleshooting, and help getting the most out of your summaries and search — all included for a year, no extra charge.

Question 11

Is what I record private?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Everything is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (Azure storage encryption), and only your account can open your recordings and transcripts. We don't sell your data, and your audio and transcripts are never used to train AI models — ours or anyone else's.

Do you keep the audio?

Accepted Answer

By default, yes — so you can play any moment back and re-transcribe in another language. If you'd rather not, switch off "Keep audio recordings" in the app (Settings → Privacy): the audio is deleted the moment the transcript and write-up exist, and only the text stays.

Question 13

What happens when I delete something?

Accepted Answer

A deleted recording goes to a trash you can restore from for 30 days; after that — or if you choose Delete forever — the audio, transcript, write-up and search index are removed from our servers. Deleting your account removes everything.

What happens if the hardware breaks?

Every deHertz includes a 1 year hardware warranty against manufacturing defects. Contact us and we'll repair or replace it.
